How To Clean Furniture Painted With Chalk Paint

How to clean furniture painted with chalk paint. No longer do you have to spend hours and hours sanding and priming since the ultra thick formulation sticks to just about any surface and lets you skip right to the painting. Dry immediately using another soft clean cloth. The first step is to pour water into a container and place your wax in the water. Wipe down all the surfaces with a damp rag. After cleaning wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
Let it dry under the sun to be extensively used. I just sprinkle a few crystals into a spray bottle of warm water and give the piece a good spray bath. My preference for cleaning furniture is 1 part white vinegar to two parts warm water with a drop of dawn dish soap. If more thorough cleaning is required please use a fresh solution of mild hand dishwashing liquid mixed with warm water. 3 cups water 2 tbsp castile soap 6 drops essential oil i used peppermint.
To clean your painted waxed piece use a mild soap water. If you get some dirt particles on the table furniture you can however look for a water ring on your chalk painted piece. Try wiping down the piece with a clean slightly damp rag first. Next use a clean cloth to apply the wax over a portion of your chalk painted furniture. Avoid all contact with furniture polish sprays excessive water alcohol and anything acidic.
Wait for a couple of minutes until the wax melts off a bit. Let your furniture dry. Then take a cleaning wipe like lysol or clorox and go back over it. You don t want any dust or grit to get stuck under your coats of paint. Apply gently moving your brush from right to left until your desired look is formed.
On other top coats still use a gentle cleaner. Do not aggressively scrub in any one spot. If you get overeager though and you find a water ring on your chalk painted item you can clean it with soapy water and easily repaint or buff it out with some more wax. Never use a degreaser soap that can effect the wax. Remove the drawers and or doors before painting some people prefer to keep the doors and drawers in place when painting furniture.
