How To Use Your Discord Bot

When we want to control our bot via code we need to register the bot first under our discord account.

After logging in to your discord server you have to select your discord server in which you want to add the bot you have to be an admin of the particular server in order for you to add a bot. Once that s done you can set up your template. In the online section right click rythmbot and select roles and assign the bot to the new role. To do this look on the right hand side of your discord server and find the bot in the list of users. Select edit channel then permissions.

Head over to discord s bot portal and create a new application. However this isn t the bot just the application you ll have to add the bot under the bot tab. Choose the server you want to add it to and click authorize. After that on the next page you have to authorize the bot so that it can perform an action for you on your command. Do note that you ll need the manage server permission on a server in order to be able to add your bot there.

You can right click the bot and select kick. Select send channel message then click save continue. The bot will prompt you for any follow up commands. Select your newly created role for the rythmbot and make sure to enable it to read messages. Once you joined our discord available here send a direct message to the cruxpool bot.

You should see something like this with your bot s username and avatar. Insert your app s id into the link template and then access it in your browser. You will be asked to connect your discord account to zapier and you ll select which server you want to add your bot to. The bot will answer you and ask you to use the command hello to start the conversation. To register the bot go to the discord developers portal and log in with your account.

Select to create a new channel in which you will be able to interact with the bot. You ll want to make a note of the client id and secret which you should keep a secret of course.
